Polar bears are one of the many creatures that I haven't yet had the pleasure of seeing in person. I've never seen an expression quite like this before. The many different shades of color in the water are also very nice. Excellent work, Pawnee !

A common sight to many cat owners, this kitten plays with the feather toy fastened to the cat tree. I love how the photo seems to capture the kitty mid-swing, with the toy whizzing away. The fact that there is no motion blur in addition to the soft color tones is probably my favorite part of this piece. Great job, MYPeanutGallery !

I am writing this journal entry to let you all know that I will no longer be moderating this group, however it will remain open. If your photo expired in the past few days, please resubmit it. I am changing the settings so that all deviations are auto-accepted.
Unfortunately the commitment has just gotten to be too much and I can't handle it by myself anymore. With a full time job, and school, and volunteer work IRL I just can't keep up. I will no longer be active on this website.
I'm sorry for any disappointment or frustration this has caused.

Weekly Feature #142/143

Lately I've had to put these features in biweekly because we're just simply not getting enough photos submitted. I can't make a good feature out of six photographs. Please be aware that as the sole admin of the group, I AM still active. Sometimes I just get put a little behind due to my alternating schedule as a CNA.
Please do not submit a photograph twice in the same week. I guarantee you it will be either accepted or declined at some point on Monday.

Polar bears are pretty cool animals (no pun intended here). My mother used to live in Churchill, Manitoba and she recalls having the bear traps (giant hamster tube structures) placed on the end of her street. Certainly a creature worth respecting. That photo was taken at the Toronto Zoo where there are three adult bears and a cub currently. The Assiniboine Park Zoo has a new underwater tunnel for them.
